Why do we memorize the Qur'an
The Messenger of Allah said Whoever reads the Qur’an learns it and acts upon it his parents will be dressed on the Day of Resurrection with a crown of light, the light of which is like the light of the sun, and his parents will be clothed in two garments which far surpass everything to be found in this world! They say: Why are we given this to wear?! It will be said: Your son learned the Qur'an. Narrated by al-Hakim.
Memorizing the Qur’an is a followed Sunnah, for the Prophet ﷺ, had memorized the Noble Qur’an, and even Angel Gabriel, peace be upon him, used to review it every year, as in Muslim on the authority of Fatima, may Allah be pleased with her, on the authority of the Prophet ﷺ: Gabriel used to listen to the recitation of the Prophet ﷺ every year, and that he listened to him reciting it the last year twice.
The memorizers of the Qur’an are the people of Allah and those closest to Him. An-Nasa’i, Ibn Majah and others narrated from the hadith of Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah has special people from among the people. They said: And who are they, O Messenger of Allah? He said: The people of the Qur’an are the people of Allah and the closest ones to Him. The hadith was authenticated by Al-Albani.
The Qur’an raises one who memorizes it ranks in Paradise, as in the hadith: It will be said to the one who memorized the Qur’an on the Day of Resurrection: Read, ascend, and recite as you used to recite in this world, for your rank is at the last verse you recite. Narrated by Ahmad, Al-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawood and authenticated by Al-Arnaout and Al-Albani.
Quran recitation and the rules of intonation
The tajwid syllabus is an interactive one. Where the phonetic base of the sentence or the letter is explained, then followed by spoken examples. We train the learner to simulate them and train them to distinguish the correct pronunciation from the wrong pronunciation. We also establish in his mind the theoretical information with mental maps, practical examples, interactive activities and exercises.
